Polished powder blue wide-woven straw accented with a deeper blue grosgrain ribbon and bow are used  creatively to make this classic off-the-face wide-brimmed cloche by MR. JOHN JR.
Vintage beauty from the early 1960s, this hat will bring out the whimsical Audrey Hepburn in you.   With its turned up brim and luxuriant ribbon and bow, the hat can be tipped back as worn by Jackie Kennedy and La Hepburn, or over the forehead.
Weddings are back!  Celebrate with the bride, don for  a lawn party or to church.    The high style will complement Summer's gauzy frocks and the baby blue glossy straw will highlight any complexion,  any hair color.
Labeled MR.JOHN JR..the hat is 14 inches in diameter, the flipped up brim is 5 1/2 inches deep and the crown 4inches tall.   The brim tapers from wide in front, curls around to a wide flat grosgrain ribbon and bow with lightly fringed tips.  Inside crown measures 22 inches. or Medium.
Condition is near-unused, clean, unfaded, no stains  or pulls.  The slightly beige cast in photos is sun reflection.  Color is lovely baby or powder blue.
Mr. John, an American hatmaker, is known for classic, timeless designs and is highly regarded by retro and vintage collectors. His hats are synonymous with 1940s, 50s, and 60s,glamour.  Hollywood studios commissioned him to design hats for stars like Joan Crawford.   His clients included Lauren Bacall, Rosalind Russell, the Duchess of Windsor and Palm Beach society.
