Vintage Lilly Daché Black Satin Cloche Pleated Hat-1960’s

Designed by the legendary Milliner Lilly Daché, this is a classic and elegant satin black cloche hat from the 1960s. The amazing and intricate pleating swirls around the hat to create a pleated rose on one side. The pleated rose creates a flattering profile for this hat. The hat is in clean and undamaged condition. Measurements: Inner circumference – 21.5” equivalent to size 6 7/8 (small); Crown height – 6.5”
Daché had a millinery business in New York from the 1930s until 1968 when she retired. She designed hats for many Hollywood celebrities, and when she retired, Loretta Young purchased all of her remaining hats. This wrapped turban style cloche is typical of her work. Some of her custom hats are displayed at New York's Metropolitan Museum.
