    Vintage Calf Hair Leopard Print Pillbox Hat by Mr John New York
    Take a walk on the wild side! Calf hair printed in a leopard pattern by Mr John. I'm dating this hat to the late 1950's due to Its retro vibe. Mr John was a New York hat designer from 1948 thru 1970. His hats were considered very haute couture. The New York Times reviewed his 1956 fall collection and wrote " a gifted designer and skilled workman who produces some of the most original, wearable, flattering hats to be seen anywhere." A classic pillbox style hat. The inside is lined in black satin with grosgrain ribbon at the rim. No rips or holes in the satin lining. Has two small combs to hold in place. . Mr john and Woodward Shops labels inside. No missing fur or bald spots. The calf skin has a nearly invisible approx 1" crack on the front left side (see picture) that could easily be repaired! From the Woodard Shops Hudson's Detroit. It is a stunning Hat. Make an entrance when you wear this hat!
