Vintage Brass Nautical Desk Flag Anchor Ship Wheel Navy CARL NORDEN WWII 29"

Description

Very rare desk top American flag display manufactured by Carl L. Norden Inc. New York (the manufacturer of the WWII bombsight for the Naval forces, and the army air forces).  Solid brass base with a ship's wheel and an anchor leaning against the flagpole. A silk, fifty-star American flag with fringe waves overhead.   Four round brass ball feet on bottom. Never seen one like this, and its in great condition!
Height: 29" tall.  The pole looks like it should lower down (telescopes) but it is frozen, and I do not want to force it.  Some lubricating oil may do the trick.
Base:  4 5/8" across.
Condition:  As stated, very good to excellent condition overall. This piece is exceptionally well made.  The ship's wheel unscrews and the pole unscrews from the base.  Not slapped together hastily. The flag looks nice, no shredding, staining or holes. The fringe is even in great condition.  The brass is in overall nice shape, with some light spotting/wear to the lacquer coating on the base (mostly behind the anchor where it was hard to dust or clean) and tip of the anchor, but still shows well.  See all pictures and use enlargement feature.
