Vintage 1940s 1950s Black Velveteen & Velvet Wide Brim Stingray Shaped Tilt Hat

Quite a find! Hollywood glamour — a black on black stunner with an amazing shape. The unique stingray wings dip down, then slightly turn up at the ends of the fully wired edge & adds a bit of mystery to the design. It's a millinery delight, understated & showy at the same time.
Black velveteen top with pitch black velvet underside, brim edging, crown band & knotted bow. The shallow crown has a structured wired 1-inch velvet covered front lip extension inside that tapers to 1/2-inch in the back. This hidden detail keeps the hat tipped up on the head when wearing.
Black grosgrain ribbon inner band has an attached elastic band that can be worn at the base of the hairline for security.
