Victorian Women's Workwear Quilted Black Wool Winter Prairie Sunbonnet Hood Hat
This antique Victorian era women's workwear quilted black wool winter prairie sunbonnet hood hat dates from the late 1860s. It is made of a black fine wool challis fabric with padded quilting details. This women's winter prairie bonnet sunbonnet farm hat has a wide front brim, a long curtain cape drape back for protecting ones neck from both the sun, wind, cold and keeping dust off the hair, tie straps under the chin and paper remnants lining the back inside crown. The bonnet measures 14 inches long with the back neck curtain drape and is 9 inches deep. It is in good as-is condition, with several small frayed moth holes scattered and frayed tie straps. There is a note of provenance includes with the hat. This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana womens workwear millinery art!
