Victorian Natural Straw Wired White Lace Bow Ostrich Feather Black Sequin Ball Trim Bonnet Hat
This antique Victorian era natural straw wired white lace bow, ostrich feather, black sequin ball trim bonnet hat dates from 1890. It is made of a woven natural straw basket weave ball trimmed base, with a large wired white net tape lace winged bow on top, black velvet ribbon secured with a straw buckle, white silk flower roses, black and white ostrich feather plumes and a black sequin beaded ball hat pin on the back. This fabulous fancy embellished petite bonnet hat has a half crescent moon shape which would sat on the back of the head secured with a hat pin on a Gibson Girl hairdo and has remnants of the original silk label (unreadable) still attached inside. The hat measures 7 inches wide across and 7 inches tall. It is in good condition, with several missing black sequins from the ball trim hat pin (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana wearable millinery art!
