Victorian Black Chantilly Lace Jet Beaded Green Velvet Ribbon Thistle Trim Bonnet Hat
This antique Victorian era black Chantilly lace jet beaded green velvet ribbon thistle trim bonnet hat dates from 1890. It is made of a wire frame covered with black Chantilly lace, a scalloped lace and jet beaded edging, a faceted jet beaded bejeweled pin on the back, dried golden yellow and gray green thistle flowers, with green velvet ribbon bow trimmings on the back. This beautiful bonnet has a fanciful small picture hat style, with white silk ribbon trim edging the inside small crown which would have been fastened atop a Gibson Girl inspired updo and is fully lined in a black sheer net fabric. The bonnet measures 10 inches tall, 9 inches wide and 16 inches in circumference inside the crown. It is in excellent condition. This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana millinery wearable art!
