an old typesetting block of the US flag with 34 stars.
Kansas was admitted to the Union as the 34
th
state in
January,
1861.
West
Virginia
was
admitted
as the 35
th
state in 1863
during the Civil War.
That would potentially date this block to sometime within, or nearly so, that timeframe.
Of course,
i
t
could have been made more recently for use in printing material discussing that time period.
So
this block might be of particular interest to Jayhawkers but also, perhaps, to US history buffs.
Dimensions are approximately:
21/32 x 5/8 x 13/16" and the weight is about 1.6 oz.
