    Description

    Up for auction is this great US Civil War era eagle on ball flag topper.  The piece measures about 9 1/2 inches long X 6 inches high (including screw type bottom attaching piece).  We believe the eagle flag topper we are selling is made of bronze, because of the weight and greenish oxidation patina, especially on the back, but we are not metal experts and cant be sure.  It does look like bronze when we scratched a small spot, though!  The eagle is standing on a ball, possibly representing the world.  In nice condition with only minimal wear, commensurate and expected with the vintage age of the piece.  Metal exhibits a great age patina!  No manufacturers markings, quite common with a piece like this!!  A great piece in great shape offered with NO RESERVE!!
