Special Vintage Gilt Gold Metallic Netting Millinery Veil Tinsel w Green Overlay

Description

A very unique and special find for the milliner or creative artist and collector.  Genuine vintage French gilt gold metallic millinery veiling or hat netting.   A cloud of fine grass green netting, with an underlay of gorgeous metallic gold tinsel veiling that has a great glimmer in the light.  The bottom hem is bound with a wider band of gold, and the top hem is lightly gathered and sewn to a narrow band of sage green velvet piping, which gives it the poufy rounded shape.  They do not make this yummy stuff anymore and they never will, making this a scarce find. Dates to the late 1940s, early 1950s.  Perfect for adding a vintage glamour touch to your hat, or for fairies, dolls, antique holiday decorations, or some special creative textile project.  Excellent condition.
