    Description

At 75 I’m a retiring antique dealer who is beginning to clean out his stock of stored treasures.
For about forty years I was a pretty fanatical collector of early American flags and lots of other patriotic flag collectibles.
I was honored to have a great collection of them, but I always knew that I was only their custodian for a while and eventually it would be time to move them on to their next owner.
This 45-star flag from the time of Utah’s admission in 1896 is most unusual with its 8-7-8-7-7-8 star configuration.
In my experience, most 45-star flags have the stars in staggered rows with an 8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7 star pattern.
Truth be told, in over 40 years of collecting flags, I don’t recall that I’ve ever even seen another with this configuration.
Only a connoisseur of collecting our national banner will appreciate this difference, but it is a rare one in my experience.
Buyer to pay shipping within the United States.
Due to ebay policies, I reluctantly have a “no returns” policy, so look closely at photos and ask questions first.
