At 75 I’m a retiring antique dealer who is beginning to clean out his stock of stored treasures.
For about forty years I was a pretty fanatical collector of early American flags and lots of other patriotic flag collectibles.
I was honored to have a great collection of them, but I always knew that I was only their custodian for a while and eventually it would be time to move them on to their next owner.
This patriotic bunting
has an unusual blue and gold star pattern.
It looks like someone stitched around the perimeter in order to stabilize it after it was cut on a bit of an angle.
It feels like silk to me and has no rips or tears. It measures roughly 5’ by 13.”
