Condition: SEE PHOTOS. The hat shows some age, but the silk ribbon roses are still nice, as is the lace. Silk roses and leaves are intact, none missing, some show a bit more wear than others, green leaves are a bit wilted, the thing is that the colors have faded over the years so now they look a lot less pink (the original color) and more amber toned. Lace is very good, not dry and no tears. Has been stored in a smoke free home and has no odors. The silk chiffon facing on the under side of the wide brim is all shattered and gone, as shown, as is the lining. Straw is still sturdy and firm. So it has these flaws but the roses are the real star and I have priced this to reflect the flaws. Selling as is, as found. Read full description, thank you.

This exquisite antique, French Edwardian hat has a heart stopping, so beautiful, full crown of silk ribbon roses!   A wide brim of sturdy black straw, the brim is covered in a gathered French lace in an antique ivory hue. The crown is completely covered in hand made, hand rolled plump silk ribbon roses in shades of faded amber pinks and golds, mixed with metallic and gilt bud clusters and sprays.   In front and back are gold metallic ribbon bows. This reminds me of a large Edwardian wedding or bridal bouquet. I am selling this hat "as found" and more for the incredible roses, as the facing and lining are gone. There was a tattered French lining with the Paris maker's name but it is gone missing. I am not sure if the lace is original to the hat but it looks like it is, and the roses definitely are.
The large straw hat, not including the lace, measures approximately 15 1/2" across the brim front to back.   The interior circumference is extra large, to fit the big up swept hairstyles of the time and is about 23 1/2" around.
I bought this at a fine antique store here in Beverly Hills and was told it was used in a Hollywood film in the 1980s, possibly "Somewhere In Time" but I have no provenance on this.
Selling it more for the roses than for the hat, and this chapeau is so pretty you will want to display it in your home or collection. SEE THE PHOTOS and ask if you have questions.
