Fabulous Lot Of 5~ VTG 1950s Birdcage Whimsy Veils Hats~White, Black, and Taupe.
Up for sale are five vintage veils. These came from an estate with the most beautiful antique linens and clothing I’ve ever seen. I am not a vintage hat/ clothing expert at all, so please ask questions- I’m happy to respond!
All of the veils have their own decorative accents.
* The white veil has velvet bows and is accented with vintage pipe cleaner pieces that look like tiny snowballs. I don’t think this veil has been used or unfolded.
* The taupe veil has smell leaf shaped shaped cutouts and small pipe cleaner pieces. I don’t think this veil has been used or unfolded.
* The black veil with the flower shaped cutouts is the only veil I see that has any of the netting damaged. The damage is near one of the flower cut outs. Please see the pictures.
* The other two black veils- one has velvet bows and the other has velvet arrows. One of the velvet arrows is loose but still attached.
* The decorative cut outs on all the veils are glued on except for the tiny pipe cleaner accents. Those were actually attached one by one and personally I think the pipe cleaner pieces are awesome!
This is a fun lot and these still have a lot of life in them! They’ve been stored for over 50 years and the boxes smell a little like old lady perfume (which according to my 22 year old son, I’ve already reached old lady status- I’m 48!). I personally don’t find it in any way offensive, but the slightly powdery old lady perfume is there. The previous owner kept them stored in a closet in her home.
