Description
We go to estate sales regularly and come across a wide array of unique and rare items. We add to our growing online inventory daily. We pick up new items from all over the world and all over the US. We also have a growing customer wish list. If you'd like to, feel free to add us to your saved seller's list and let us know what you collect and/or need. We’d be honored to add you to our customer wish list.We ask what we consider to be a fair price for anything we sell and understand that our idea of a fair price may be someone else's 'that's too much' price. If that's the case, feel free to make us an offer and will consider it. We also have sales regularly, so check back often.
There is always a Sale by TheBay!
We just came across three vintage beer cases, a Schoenling, Carling Black Label and Stroh's Bohemian Lager, all full of vintage beer bottles. We ended up with 72 different bottles, both imported and domestic. All of the bottles date from the late 1950s to the early 1970s. We come across cans quite often, but beer bottles are quite a bit more rare. Most of the bottles are free of case wear on the glass and the labels are in very nice condition with hardly any wear on any of them.
If beer bottles are your thing, feel free to check the others out and we do combine shipping based quoted price from each of the three major carriers based on the size and weight of the box. The bottles all weigh more than one pound when packed for shipping, so they can't go first class. With that said, it would certainly be more cost effective to buy multiple bottles with combined shipping to reduce the average shipping cost per bottle.
Now onto the item for sale.
For sale is an early 1960s 12 ounce, 9 1/2" tall Braumeister Special Pilsener Beer beer bottle brewed by Independent Milwaukee Brewery in Newport, KY.
Independent Milwaukee Brewers began operations in 1901 in Milwaukee, WI. The brewery was purchased by G. Heileman Brewing Co. in 1962 which continued operations until closing the brewery for good in 1964.
Interestingly, the label has Newport, KY as the brewery location, but IMB was located in Milwaukee, WI. We're not sure how or when the overlap occurred, but we trust it was during the time when a lot of consolidation was going on in the industry.
The label indicates that IMB is a division of the G. Heileman Brewing Company, so we can probably date this bottle to between 1962 and 1964.
The bottom of this bottle has an N inside of a square which was the mark used by the Obear-Nester Glass Co. It also has 59 which was typically the date code for the year of bottle manufacture.
Both of the labels are in pretty nice overall condition, but there is a bit more wear than most of the labels on the other bottles we got with this collection.
The bottle itself is also in excellent vintage condition with minor case wear mainly below the main label.
We didn't wash out the inside of this clear bottle, but we trust it would clean up nicely once the inside is thoroughly cleaned.
Unfortunately, this beer bottle will weigh more than one pound when packed for shipping, so it can't go first class.
We offer several shipping options, just make your selection upon checkout.
Truth be told, it would be much more cost effective to purchase several beer bottles and save on shipping per bottle since we only charge for the additional weight as quoted by the three carriers and you select which one you prefer.
Thanks for looking and God bless!
