Circa 1845 27 Star Flag Florida Admission

Description

At 75 I’m a retiring antique dealer who is beginning to clean out his stock of stored treasures.
For about forty years I was a pretty fanatical collector of early American flags and lots of other patriotic flag collectibles.
One of my greatest finds at an estate sale was this relatively small 27-star, glazed muslin parade flag still on its original stick.
The 5-4-5-4-5-4 configuration is clearly screened on to it and I have always believed it was a true circa 1845 original period example from the time of Florida’s admission to the Union.
