    Description

    Fabulous vintage / antique Victorian Black Velvet Mourning Hat Spoon Bonnet. This has the wire construction. Just look at the gorgeous detail such as the silk ruffle around the rim and the tufts of silk adorning the the bonnet. There a lovely piece of decoration at the nap of the neck. It has wide silk ribbon ties.
    Condition: There are 2 issues. As you can see in the photos the ribbon ties are shredding and one has been knotted. I'm assuming it came apart and someone tied it. The other issue is in the lining. While the lining is good there is just some stitching that has come loose. As you can see the exterior of the hat is in very good condition. No holes in the velvet or silk tufts.
    A piece of fashion history to be treasured. I always wish I knew the original owners story. This displays beautifully and if ribbons were replaced it is in very wearable condition.
