    Description

I have done my homework, but I am not a bottle collector. However, I do know this is a very interesting, attractive & unique bottle. It brings to mind the "drink me" bottle featured in Alice and Wonderland... This is an awesome piece to decorate a nice bar with, placed on a high shelf. It's presence, simple style & history will evoke charm and smiles when displayed appropriately.
From what I've learned, this amber bottle was most likely made between 1880s & 1920s. It's most interesting because it's form seems rare, making it hard to identify accurately. It looks like a Benedictine bottle due to the crescent detail, but its bulbous; it also looks like an old squat onion or mallet bottle, but it was molded. The only distinguishing embossing is a number "3" on the bottom. There are also seams that might help a more seasoned bottle expert identify the bottle.
The silver applique is very well done. In fine, flowing cursive script the word "Pickmeup" is displayed. I read there was a medicinal alcohol tonic around the turn of the century, that went by that name. It's in great shape; just has a few small rubs & light scratches, but if it is truly 100+ years old, it's in wonderful shape. The bottle measures about 7.5" tall and 5" wide. I am offering this with careful packing & free shipping within the contiguous 48 states.
