Description
Tremendous hand sewn 44 star US flag measuring 15 feet x 9 feet.
Please review all of my photos.
This treasure was acquired at a recent auction in
Crawford County PA (see photo of the flag hanging during the auction).
The size is a little overwhelming.  I am 6'5 and standing next to it in the photos.
The star pattern is as follows:    7-7-8-7-8-7
History tells us a 44 star flag was the official US flag from 1890 to 1896.
As expected with age, the flag is frayed at the edges, and has several small holes, but most of the issues are around the borders, and bottom corners.
Most likely, this flag was displayed on the outside of a building, or perhaps
in a local museum or courthouse.
You can see from the photos the flag still has great color and displays well.
It presently hangs safely in our storage unit in Western PA and will be happy
to show it to all serious buyers.
