    40’s Coque Feather HEADBAND Burgundy TRUE VINTAGE

    This piece fits in the round box that it came in. (See photo).  The headband expands to fit any head size.  It is made of COQUE FEATHERS,  sometimes spelled COQ , which are rooster (cock) feathers that have been dyed burgundy in this case.  I do not believe this was ever actually worn.  I bought a whole hat collection from a couple of older brothers in Kansas whose mother had passed away and this was one piece.
    You can see from the photos it's ASYMMETRICAL with one side fuller and drops down farther than the other.  Beautifully made probably in USA. There is a sticker on bottom of clear box,  so I assume that's the store that sold it, DUCKWALL'S?
    A gorgeous simple chic addition to your evening attire or flapper costume.
