DESCRIPTION:
1950s-60 Made Italy Felt Tower of Pisa & Feather Swirl Hat, Veil
Tag reads Size 22, Hat is stamped “Body Made In Italy”, Height is 4” (inches) at front & 5 ¾” at the back.
The style of this very unusual design from Italy suggest the “Leaning Tower of Pisa”.
A long exotic tail feather with an amazing 2-sided pattern outlines the top 2 tiers of the “Leaning Tower” crown of this sumptuous black wool felt with velvet finish hat.
On the front, there is also an intact black diamond shaped net veil which is more for effect than utility.
So V-E-R-Y chic!!!
So Modernist yet tasteful!
The original Franklin Simon of Cleveland, OH department store box & receipt accompany this time capsuled hat, dated 10-8-1960. Appears to be Mint condition / never worn.
There are no holes, damage, stains or odors – smoke free.
Outstandingly well preserved & displayable condition!
