    Description

1930 AFRICAN AMERICAN PHOTO DC FIRE engine Co. Parade float first prize unusua.
Really unusual apparent parade float this one 1st prize. Photograph depicts Cleopatra's barge being rowed by African-Americans. Cleopatra also seems to be African-American as well. float was apparently sponsored by the district of Columbia fire engine company and one first prize September 1st 1930. Not sure of location but most likely district of Columbia.  Image has substantial damage over 50%, however participants are still pretty good. has cracked glass and frame has had much of the finish peeled off.  Beneath Cleopatra there is a small sign that says engine company #4
Inscription in bottom right hand corner says awarded first prize September 1st 1930 district of Columbia fire engine company. Truly a unique piece of Americana. Thank you for looking
    Approximately 12x24 in total
Parade may have been KKK rally but unsure.
