1900s Wealthy Man W/ Horse & Carriage Photo African American Vtg Black Americana

Description

A real nice image that appears to date from around the turn of the century by the feel of the thin photo paper. Quality developed photo with only a hint of silvering on one side. The horse and carriage are fairly clear. Unfortunately their owner is not as sharp. Does appear to be African-American. He is named on the back with what looks like Aaron M.Bernard. I'm not having any luck tracing him down. There is also an unfortunate caption beneath that appears to read "Black Rich Man". There is damage from previous mounting that obscures some of this. The photo itself is in very good condition though each corner has discoloration from old mounting borders. Please see photos for these details. If you're a better detective than I am and you find out more details about this gentleman, please let me know so I can add it to the description.
All that said it's really a great image. It appears to be a winter day by the trees behind him and his clothing. He's well-dressed with a fancy top coat, hat and kerchief. Leather gloves and a blanket over his legs. Well bred horse and a top of the line, sporty looking carriage. Older gentleman. It looks like he led a charmed life.
